Ministry of Interior Hosts 4th ICDO Meeting

Under the patronage of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) hosted the ICDO (International Civil Defense Organization) 4th meeting for ICDO Training Directors, Institutes and Schools. The meeting took place in Abu Dhabi and was attended by senior civil defense and emergency officials and representatives of ICDO members states.

Discussions on the first day were attended by Brigadier General Mohamed Abdullah Al-Zaabi, Acting Commander-in-Chief of Civil Defense, and Belkacem Electrosy, Secretary-General of the International Organization for Civil Protection and Civil Defense, and with the participation of 65 principals of schools and institutes of civil defense, representing 27 countries from the continents of Asia, Africa, and Europe.

The meeting discusses in its agenda a number of topics related to the fields of training in the work of civil defense, training programs that are prepared by institutes and schools specializing in civil defense participating in the meeting, expressing opinions and exchanging experiences to reach recommendations that come out and agreed upon about the training mechanism and training programs that will be Circulate them to member states to implement and implement them according to the specialization and needs of each country, where specialization and need are prerequisites for choosing training programs for each of the member states of the International Civil Protection Organization.

At the beginning of the meeting, Brigadier General Mohamed Al Zaabi welcomed the participating delegations and conveyed to them the greetings of Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, and his wishes to those in charge of meeting with success and payment in their noble humanitarian mission.

He stressed the UAE’s keenness to host such meetings, putting its fingerprints in all international and regional forums, and permanent coordination with the International Organization for Civil Protection and Civil Defense in accordance with effective strategic plans that accommodate the requirements of the present and foreseeing the future, and the implementation of joint high-level projects in the areas of training, prevention and safety, noting The necessity of joint work to achieve the concept of joint responsibility between the countries of the world to provide the utmost protection, prevention and safety, and enhance the quality of life in all societies.

Electrosy also delivered a speech that emphasized the vital role the organization plays in the fields of training, facilitating the exchange of experiences and coordinating efforts in the field of risk prevention between countries of the world, as well as its role in helping countries to develop systems to provide protection and safety for people.

During the two sessions, the participating delegations made presentations of their countries' experiences in the fields of training, awareness, prevention and safety.
