Specialized teams working under the UAE National Team have started to mobilize sniffer dogs as an additional defense line to detect suspected Covid-19 cases among passengers. The recent mobilizations were made at Sharjah and Abu Dhabi airports as well as Ghwaifat Border Crossing for land transport passengers. This comes under the national plan for expanding the use of sniffer dogs and benefiting from their capabilities in this regard.

In the border crossings, the use of intensively trained dogs has actually begun to detect samples taken from the armpits of travelers without direct contact with dogs.
