MOI named Most Influential Entity in Open Data contest
Major Saeed Khalfan Alkaabi, a Federal Security Information Department officer and Head of the Ministry of Interior's Open Data Team, received the Excellence Shield from HE Omar Bin Sultan Alolama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications. This comes as the Ministry of Interior received the award for the most influential entity in the open data contest.
The Ministry took part in collecting data inventories from several federal entities and exerted concerted efforts and competed in this contest under the supervision of the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Center. The Open Data Watch assessed this data in accordance with international standards, and this in turn helped the UAE rise by 51 ranks until it came in the 16th position globally in the field of open data in 2020.
