Evaluation criteria of the research
1- Aspects of rating
• The importance of the research subject and its scientific value.
• The relevance of the research to the police work (the strategy, objectives and the main operations of the ministry of interior).
• The clarity of the research query and its relation to the scientific and applied reality.
• The value of the new knowledge added to the human knowledge.
2- Novelty and authenticity:
Aspects of rating
• The novelty in selecting scientific ideas
• The novelty in choosing the topic of research or identifying the problem or the followed methodology.
• The novelty in giving realistic local examples that serves the research.
• The novelty in presenting convenient solutions that suits the surrounding environment (innovation).
3- Theoretical framework for research:
Aspects of rating
• Benefiting from previous related studies, discuss it and use it properly.
• The appropriateness of the selected topics and adequacy to cover the dimensions of research and its variables.
• The clarity and authenticity in terms of the concepts of the research.
• The objectivity in terms of relying on the evidence and non-aligned to personal or emotional views.
4- Writing style, chosen language and presentation:
Aspects of rating
• The reliance on critical writing, not only depending on descriptive and narrative methods.
• The ability to observe and compare accurately and objectively
• The authenticity of the used language linguistically, grammatically, clarity and simplicity.
• The suitability of research coordination, in terms of presentation and logical order of the research chapters.
5- Research Methodology:
Aspects of rating
• The coherent of research in terms of methodology whether its (qualitative or quantitative) and the used methods (interviews/questionnaire).
• The suitability of the chosen methodology in answering the research questions and achieving its goals.
• The quality in applying the research methodology (clarity of research hypothesis and the quality of the study).
• The proper determination of the scope and field of the research (the dimensions of the study environment).
6- Scientific credibility and authentication:
Aspects of rating
• Neutrality in terms of non-misrepresentation of information or infringing on the rights of others.
• Integrity of scientific authentication in terms of accuracy in pointing out all the used references.
• The novelty, adequacy, diversity of the used sources, and its relevance to the topic of the research.
• The credibility in using resources and using them efficiently and not relying on quotations.
7- Data Analysis and drawing out results and recommendations:
Aspects of rating
• Authenticity of the approach that has been followed in the data analysis (quantitative/qualitative), discussing and interpreting it accurately.
• Clarity of the results and its relevance to the research topic and linking it to research recommendations.
• The importance of the recommendation and the suggested solutions and its relevance to the nature of subject and research problem.
• The realism of the suggested solutions and its applicability in the Ministry of Interior (innovation).
8- Ways of referencing the research:
Despite the multiplicity of styles and ways that researchers can use in referencing their research, publishing in books and scientific magazines require the researchers to follow a particular method of referencing. Participating at the Ministry of Interior Award for scientific research must follow one of the following methods to authenticate the references and resources:
1- MLA (Modern Language Association method): it depends on mentioning the author’s last name and the page number when writing.
2- APA (American Psychological Association method): it depends on writing the last name of the author and the year of publication.
3- Chicago Manual method: it depends on using the margins at the bottom of the pages and numbering them sequentially so that all the details of the reference appear.
9- The research technical specification
1. The research should not be less than 6000 words and not more than 20,000 words without references, ranging from 25 pages to page 50.
2. The research must be free of spelling, grammatical and linguistic errors.
3. The images attached in the research must be clear and accurate.
4. The research should be in the classical Arabic language, taking into account the use of the simplified method.
5. A single page should be allocated to the executive summary of the research at the beginning, showing the objectives and methodology and the main findings and recommendations.
6. Please consider the following in the research presentation and format:
- Font Type ( Arial or Times New Roman ).
- The font size of the content (14), the font size of the headings (16), and the font size of the notes and references (12).
- The distance between lines and spacing is 1.5 .
- The tables and shapes should be described and given an address above and a serial number.
- Notes should be placed at the bottom of the page.
- All pages should be numbered.
- The research should be divided into chapters and sections according to the nature of the research.
- Registration from April 16 to April 30 /2018: when all applications are received (attached research summary + personal photo).
- Responding to applicants from May 01 to May 10 /2018: when all applicants are informed whether the application is accepted or rejected with the reason of rejections.
- Research writing from May 13 to Nov 29 /2018: when applicants commence their research paper.
- Research submission from Nov 18 to Nov 29 /2018.
